Recipe FAQ

What type of flour is best for the dough?

All-purpose flour provides the right balance of structure and softness for a tender yet sturdy dough.

How should I shape the dough to get the wreath look?

Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the cinnamon filling, then roll tightly into a log. Slice lengthwise, twist the halves together, and form a ring shape, pinching ends to seal.

Can I add extra ingredients to the filling?

Yes, chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts, as well as raisins or candied orange peel, enhance texture and flavor.

How do I know when the wreath is done baking?

Bake until it's golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped, usually 22–25 minutes at 350°F (175°C).

What is the best way to apply the glaze?

Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth, then drizzle over the warm wreath for a glossy finish that melts slightly into the baked surface.

Can this be prepared ahead of time?

The dough can be prepared and risen ahead. After shaping, refrigerate before baking to enhance flavor and ease of handling.
