- For the Brownies: 120 g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter , 150 g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar , 2 large eggs , 1 tsp vanilla extract , 70 g (2/3 cup) all-purpose flour , 40 g (1/3 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder , 1/4 tsp salt
- For Decoration: 100 g (3.5 oz) white chocolate melted , Green gel food coloring , 12 strawberries (hulled washed and dried) , Assorted sprinkles and/or edible stars , 12 small marshmallows (optional for hat base)
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) Line a square 20x20 cm (8x8-inch) baking pan with parchment paper
- Step 2:
- Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave let cool slightly
- Step 3:
- In a bowl whisk together melted butter and sugar Add eggs and vanilla whisking until smooth
- Step 4:
- Sift in flour cocoa powder and salt Mix gently until just combined
- Step 5:
- Pour batter into prepared pan smoothing the top Bake for 20–25 minutes until set but fudgy Cool completely in the pan
- Step 6:
- Once cool cut brownies into 12 squares
- Step 7:
- In a small bowl tint melted white chocolate with green food coloring
- Step 8:
- Place a marshmallow on each brownie square if using then set a strawberry (pointed side up) on top to form the hat
- Step 9:
- Spoon or pipe green chocolate over each strawberry to resemble a Christmas tree Decorate immediately with sprinkles and/or edible stars
- Step 10:
- Let set for 10 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate briefly until chocolate hardens
