12 - 1 cup brown sugar
13 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
14 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
15 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ Optional Topping
16 - Powdered sugar, for dusting
# Preparation Steps:
01 - In a small bowl, combine diced apples with granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Allow mixture to sit, enabling flavors to develop.
02 - Separate refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Gently flatten each piece by hand.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add biscuit pieces and prepared spiced apples. Gently fold until uniformly incorporated.
04 - Pour vegetable oil into a deep skillet or Dutch oven to a depth of 2 inches. Heat to 350°F.
05 - Using two spoons or a small ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of fritter mixture into heated oil in batches. Fry each side for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
06 - Remove cooked fritters with a slotted spoon, placing them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
07 - Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and cook for 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and sea salt; simmer 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract.
08 - Drizzle warm caramel sauce over fritters. Lightly dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve immediately.
