→ Latte Components
05 - 2 shots freshly brewed espresso (2 ounces)
06 - 1 1/4 cups whole milk or oat milk
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
# Preparation Steps:
01 - Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onion, sugar, and salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply caramelized and golden, about 12 to 15 minutes.
02 - Transfer caramelized onions and pan juices to a blender. Add 2 tablespoons milk and blend until completely smooth. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve for a silky texture.
03 - Brew 2 shots (2 ounces) of espresso and pour evenly into two cups.
04 - Stir 1 tablespoon of strained onion purée into each cup of espresso until well combined.
05 - Heat remaining milk until steaming. Froth using a milk frother or whisk until creamy and foamy.
06 - Pour frothed milk over espresso-onion mixture in each cup. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired. Stir gently and serve immediately.
