12 - 1 cup brown sugar
13 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
14 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
15 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ Optional Topping
16 - Powdered sugar, for dusting
# Preparation Steps:
01 - In a small bowl, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground allspice. Set aside to allow flavors to develop.
02 - Separate refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Flatten the pieces slightly with your hands.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add biscuit dough pieces and spiced apples. Gently fold until just combined.
04 - Pour 2 inches of vegetable oil into a deep skillet or Dutch oven and heat to 350°F (175°C).
05 - Using two spoons or a small ice cream scoop, carefully drop heaping tablespoons of batter into the hot oil in batches. Fry each for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
06 - Remove fritters using a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
07 - Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and cook for two minutes. Gradually whisk in heavy cream and sea salt. Simmer for three to four minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and incorporate vanilla extract.
08 - Drizzle warm caramel sauce over fritters and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve immediately.
